New Vicarage

St Barnabas' is to have a new vicarage.
The new house will be built on the site of the existing vicarage at
12 Lavender Gardens, together with two other houses that will be sold to pay
for the project. The existing vicarage was built in the 1920s and is far too
big for the purpose,
and expensive to run and to maintain.
It is expected that work on the project, unfortunately delayed, will begin in May 2008 and that the house will be ready in March 2009.

Christmas Carols

We held a service of Carols by Candlelight on Sunday 16th December in church and sang Carols on the Common on Wednesday 19th. The carol singing took place on Clapham Common opposite the church, and mince pies and mulled wine were served inside. As in past years, we were accompanied by Nunhead Salvation Army Band. The money we collected went to help with Salvation Army projects.
