NIGHT SHELTER

In partnership with Glassdoor, St Barnabas Church is part of a network of churches that provide winter shelter and food to men and women affected by homelessness.

Every Thursday, from November through to Easter, a team of volunteers start gathering at 5.30pm to prepare a warm evening meal which they share with c. 35 homeless people. Our guests then sleep in our warm venues for the night, before a self-service breakfast at 6.15am the following morning.

Sadly the rise in homelessness is such that the work of charities such as Glassdoor continues to be paramount. There are many ways to support Glass Door, check their website for more information.

We are raising money for Glass Door because we know they support and shelter those in the local community who are at an absolute crisis point. Glass Door welcomes everyone as their guest, giving them some stability before helping them take the necessary steps to move off the streets for good. Their doors are open to everyone year-round. In winter they provide emergency shelters, and they offer advice and support to help people move beyond homelessness throughout the year.

This year again a group from St Barnabas, including teenagers, spent a night sleeping out in the streets of London to fundraise for Glassdoor. Please donate anything you can to provide shelter and support to someone who has no where else to turn. Please share with family and friends on Facebook and Twitter - and beyond - so we can reach our target, and we can bring more people in off the streets. Thank you!
